Walking with the Unseen

Awakening to the powers of Mother Earth

Within the wilds of East Dartmoor, we will align with the fundamental powers of movement, ‘Walking with the Unseen’. We will move and walk in the Medicine way, we will sit a while in the stillness of our hearts, merging with Mother Life amongst all her wonder and mystery.

We will enter expanded time to bring ourselves present through both stillness and movement while we are alone and also while together as a circle. We will open to sacred time and space alongside the whisper of trees, the songs of the river and amongst the hum of the ancient keepers of the old stories, the great granite beings.

East Dartmoor is a place of both woodland and high open moor. As we work we will be guided by the slow time of moss and lichen and the even slower time of the transformation of ancient rock through the movement of wind and water.

We will offer teachings and practices that support us to perceive and awaken to the life force within everything. We will open into the Mystery through building a connection to the power of all that is unseen around us. Amongst the subtle beauty of the earth, an awakening to everyday ceremony can arise as we deepen our connection to both our body and to the places that we inhabit.

This is an all weather, all terrain adventure, some places will be steep and all will be uneven, so a reasonable level of fitness is required to take part. Although we will mostly be outside, we will also have a base in a village hall.

The song of the purple grasses reaches his ear
The song of the purple grasses slips unnoticed under his skin
The song of the purple grasses is to him as kith and kin
He kneels amongst them and receives the song and sings it quietly to himself
He weeps their song through the duct of his eye and through the pores of his skin
He gathers his tears as they fall and extracts the purple of the grasses from them
He soaks up their colour until his own hue becomes changed
